Loans available at Georgia stores
Georgia's Industrial Loan Act doesn't permit payday lending. For a short-term amount under $500, a pawn loan or a line of credit is the closest fit; for anything larger, a title pawn or installment loan.

Check Cashing details →Six rules every Georgia borrower should know
Title pawns, not title loans
Georgia regulates vehicle-secured loans under its pawnbroker statute. You keep the car; the pawnbroker holds the title. Redeem any time.
25% → 12.5% step-down
Title and item pawns charge up to 25% per 30-day period for the first three periods, then up to 12.5% per period after. Paying down principal reduces every future charge.
Installment loans to $5,000
Licensed under the Georgia Industrial Loan Act with rate caps by term. Installment is Georgia's most-used Bears Lending product.
Right to cure
Before any repossession on a title pawn, the pawnbroker must give written notice and a 30-day right to cure. Bears Lending sends notice by mail and text.
No payday loans
Georgia caps small-loan interest at levels that make payday lending illegal. Any "payday loan" offered to Georgia residents online is unlicensed.
Regulator
Georgia Department of Banking and Finance licenses industrial loan companies and check cashers; pawnbrokers are registered locally. Verify at dbf.georgia.gov.
